Washington Alloy - 1/16 X 36" Er308l Stainless Steel (tt 308/308l 04)
Washington Alloy
Except for the carbon content, this categorization is identical to ER308. Intergranular carbide precipitation is less likely with this filler metal's low carbon content (0.03 percent maximum). It improves intergranular corrosion resistance without the addition of stabilizers like niobium or titanium. At elevated temperatures, however, the strength of this low-carbon alloy is lower than that of niobium stabilized alloys or Type 308H.
Stainless steel has several appealing characteristics that have led to its widespread application in the production of parts and components across a wide range of industries. Stainless Steel with a minimum chromium concentration of 10.5 percent is 200 times more corrosion resistant than steel without it.
