Washer (5/Pack) - Quicksilver - 20684 (20684-PK) is a thin plate with a hole (usually in the middle) that spreads the load of a threaded fastener such as a bolt or nut. Other applications include spacers, springs (Belleville washers, wave washers), wear pads, pre-load indicators, locking devices, and vibration reduction (rubber washers). These washers are hardened steel washers, which is better used in high-quality bolted joints to prevent pre-load loss due to brinelling after torque is applied. Washers also protect steel screws from galvanic corrosion by insulating them from aluminum surfaces.
