The Phillips Flat Head Screw, 10 x 1-1/2 inch, is used for general sheet metal work, tapping, and fastening sheet metal to wood. Type-A sharp tip penetrates quickly and is ideal for wood or light metal. This screw is composed of austenitic stainless steel with chromium, which forms an invisible surface film that inhibits oxidation and provides corrosion resistance to the metal. In the presence of oxygen, if the surface layer is knock-down, it regenerates. Sheet metal screws are often used in sheet metal, plastic, fiberglass, wood and have large threads.
