Exhaust manifolds and risers are a standard feature on almost all inboard and inboard/outboard (I/O) engines. The exhaust mixer elbow is concealed beneath your inboard engine and is out of sight. Its purpose is to mix the cooling water released from the engine heat exchanger with the exhaust gases from the engine to cool them.
