Sierra's 18-5471 Thunderbolt HEI Distributor is designed for use in GM V6 engines with Thunderbolt IV and V Ignitions. Features battery powered (HEI) High Energy Ignition. Uses a Hall-Effect type sensor to trigger ignition accurately even at extremely low RPM. Designed as a direct replacement for Mercury Thunderbolt IV Ignition Distributors. Use with Sierra's 18-5274 Tune Up Kit. Meets or exceeds SAE J1171 standards. The Thunderbolt HEI Distributor comes with (1) Sierra 18-5116-1 Ignition Sensor, (1) Sierra 18-5432 Rotor Assembly, and (1) Sierra 18-5396 Distributor Cap.
