This Mercury Impeller fits MCM and Outboard applications and is a component of the engine's cooling system. A damaged impeller can lead to low flow in pumps. The common causes of impeller failure are cavitation, erosion, and corrosion. Keep a spare impeller on board in case of sudden failure. The inboard and sterndrive engines usually include a flexible impeller-type raw water pump.
