Marine Machining & Manufacturing - 3/8-16 Sq. Head Set Screw (3/8-16 Setscrew)
Marine Machining & Manufacturing
A type of threaded fastener called a HEAD SET SCREW (7/16-14 SETSCREW) is most frequently used to hold components in place. Generally speaking, this refers to joining two or more loose parts by tightly pressing one part up against (or inside) another surface.
Headset screws secure (set) objects that would otherwise be able to slide or move to one another. The head set screw must go through a threaded hole in one component and press firmly against the surface of another part on the backside. They can carry out this setting function as a result of their distinctive flat-ended tips, which are a crucial component of most set screw designs.
