A Flame Arrestor is a device that allows gasses to pass through it but blocks the passage of a flame to prevent a fire or an explosion. This high-grade product is made of gauze or screening, thin metal tubes. Flame arrestors function by rapidly conducting heat away from any flames that try to pass through them - cooling the flame to the point where it's extinguished. This flame arrestor is a replacement for the original Chrysler Marine 4142886 and Mercruiser 41639A-1 and 41639 flame arrestors.
